Veterans' Benefits

  • Veteran Students who are using Federal Education Benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs must request for their courses to be certified by filling out the Request for Certification.
  • Veteran Students can only be certified for courses that are on his/her degree plan unless he/she is in the last semester before graduation (i.e. All required courses have been fulfilled on said degree plan). In the event that a veteran student is in the last semester before graduation, he/she is authorized to take courses outside of said degree plan in order to reach full-time status.
  • Veteran Students can only be certified for repeat courses if the course was failed with an “F” grade, unless he/she is in the last semester before graduation. In the event that a veteran student is in the last semester before graduation, he/she is authorized to repeat courses that have met graduation requirements.
  • The VA will not fund any remedial course that is taken online. All remedial courses must be taken in the classroom.
  • Please be advised that hybrid courses will have to be reported to the VA as online courses and can affect your pay if you collect a monthly housing allowance.
  • Hazelwood Application Deadline

Applications and all supporting documentation must be received by the institution no later than the last day of class in order to be evaluated for the semester or term.
