Adult Education

The purpose of the Adult Education and Literacy Program is to inspire and enable all adults, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Adults enroll to seek employment, advance on the job, pursue a college education, and/or for personal enrichment. All classes and instructional materials used in the classroom are also available free of charge. Classes are available in Navarro, Ellis, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties.

How do I get started?

Do I have to take GED classes before taking the test?

No. Please go to GED.COM and take a practice test. If you score “Likely to Pass” you may proceed and take the test. The High School Equivalency classes are free and a good refresher or quality learning for all material. ​

How much does the GED test cost?

The total cost for all 4 GED computer-based test is $145 or $169 for remote-proctored test. The Navarro College Adult Education & Literacy Program often has GED Vouchers available for students. Your practice cost could be $0.

• How much does the High School Equivalency (HSE) or English as a Second Language (ESL) Cost?

There is no charge or fee for HSE or ESL classes. It is completely FREE!​
