The Foundation was established in 1974 as Mid-Tex Educational and Research Corporation. The name was formally changed to the Navarro College Foundation, Inc. in 1989. The Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt entity and works as the philanthropic arm of Navarro College to seek additional resources beyond state and local appropriations. Resources for the Foundation are primarily provided through individual donations, corporate donations, and grants. Each year, the Foundation holds three fundraisers to enhance the scholarship opportunities for Navarro College students. “Dancing For Our Stars” provides education benefits to students at the Navarro campus.
Brilliance provides scholarships to students in Ellis County and Excellence assists students in Freestone, Leon, and Limestone Counties. Through the support received by the community, the Navarro College Foundation has awarded over $200,000 each year in scholarships. The Foundation has also been instrumental in providing resources for building projects such as dormitory halls, the Cook Education Center, and most recently the Hunters and Gatherers of the Blackland Prairie exhibit. In addition, the Foundation provides support to the Navarro College faculty through Teaching Excellence Awards and the purchase of instructional equipment. None of these life changing opportunities would be possible without your continued dedication and support.
Thank you!
